My eye was instantly attracted to this trio of modern houses grouped in a setting reminiscent of a traditional farm steading, each house subtly different, yet all linked externally by their distinctive finish in silvery larch and local stone, unpointed, Lakeland style. All three houses have been meticulously built by a small local family firm of father, mother and son with a track record of house-building in the area stretching back some thirty years.... I was wowed by the stylish, modern and spacious open-plan lay-out of the house I bought, so different from the tiny rooms of my former 19th century Victorian cottage ... and even more by the craftmanship shown in the wooden floors, the open staircase in fashionable hemlock, the Charles Yorke kitchen, and the other interior woodwork.... And with underfloor heating throughout the ground floor supplemented by a modern Swedish wood-burner in the lounge area I was to be warm all winter for the first time in twenty years! What could be better?

On my first visit to Perthshire I immediately fell in love with the location. Enquiries with the local Blacksmith (John) regarding AKG who were converting the steading at Coshieville resulted in my desire to own the property. Having monitored closely the workmanship, skill and aftercare of the development I have no hesitation in stating that buying an AKG home will be a pleasurable experience. I moved into a spotless and perfectly finished dwelling.

No.1, Dewar Steadings
When we first came to Dewar Steadings in August 2005 it was raining and the site was just that. We were greeted by Glen an enthusiastic Scottish Lancastrian lad (who, it turned out, was born in the same part of Lancashire as David). He had ambitions, with his Dad (Alan) and Mum (Kath) to convert 2 barns and build 4 houses of unique architectural design and quality.
Even though the house we were there to view was still a building site we could see the craftsmanship, quality, pride and enthusiasm they had for their work and the development and we knew instantly that the house was for us.
There is no doubt that the house has been constructed to the highest standard of building technique and architectural design. The whole development complements and merges into the breath taking landscape of the Glen. It is clear that what Alan, Kath, Glen, their staff and contractors have achieved is a very high quality development that is sympathetic to its natural surroundings.
Our house floods with light and is warmed by efficient under floor heating and a relaxing open plan fire, the whole building being insulted to a very high level. Words fail to describe the beauty and splendour of the house and its setting. The rugged landscape is invited into the space through the large windows the boundary of which is sometimes undetectable. The feeling of space and light is truly magnificent. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is quite remarkable.
It is a privilege and an honour to be the custodian of one of these fine houses in such peaceful and remarkable natural surrounding.

Our long dreamt of move from Outer London to Highland Perthshire was finally realized through AKG Homes in November 2006. In a dream of a location we have a dream of a house; beautiful in the build, spacious yet cosy and superbly functional in design. Finished to perfection, there is every attention to detail, with quality fittings throughout and wonderful woodwork at every turn.
Great people to deal with and who are now our friends.
